Kota Kinabalu Trip 2010: Night life

Okay! Freaking over due this post it. Oh no, Yoda influenced: Yoda recording for Tom Tom GPS.  swt.

So! Before going to KK, a friend of mine had told me I had to visit the clubs there. Because he went to B.E.D. and said it was very nice. Soooo~~~ off we went, clubbing. But we saved B.E.D for later. We checked out Ice Bar at 1Borneo on Friday night.

It was really pretty

Also really empty >_<.

But I'll give them an excuse, it's because the World Cup was going on. Everyone was right outside Ice Bar watching football in the big screen. Apparently the big screen was Ice Bar's too, so they didn't have any business problems I think.

Music was okay and all. But drinks were err...

Don't order Long Island Iced Tea there! It was disgusting. The taste was weird! It was bittery alright, but the bitter had no alcohol kick kind of bitter, it was just bad period.

The Tequila Sunrise however, was alright :D

RM90 for 2 jugs of cocktails

I lost my balance while doing this and fell on Cherling T_T

We left Ice Bar around 12 that night because it was getting depressing even though they had some activities going on like break dancing and game thingies, there were just too few people. We headed for B.E.D after that, which shall be shown later.

Saturday night, we checked out Times Square, KK. It's somewhat like Travillion in Kuching, only, way bigger and classier, and had tons more parking which are a hundred times well maintained, but er, not free la. RM2 per entry I think. Still cheap for decent parking right?

And the place was much nicer. It was big, spacious, lotsa youngsters and coughChinesecough. There were quite a number of clubs and karaoke bars there, including some with very familiar names like:

Emperor!

The Curve?! which was not very big haha.
And many more clubs. They were all pretty and very modern, most of them has 2 stories, but some were a little... under-occupied, if you know what I mean. Okay, I mean, there were a lot of clubs there, but they were not all filled with people. One of my friends tried and simply opened one door of a club and saw the most depressing sight ever and immediately closed the door HAHA. There were only 2 people in the club. D:

Anyway, our main visit to Times Square was actually to checkout Firefly. It was introduced by one of our friends. Which we later found out to be another friend's uncle's place. Coolness.

Now that place was happening! A Philippino band (I think) was playing and they were fawesome! They kept on singing all the most modern, mainstream clubbing music non-stop, they made DJs look bad >_<. The club was packed and young adults were dancing to the music, drinking and having fun the whole night through. Oh the place was quite pretty too hehe. Too bad we didn't know about the place earlier. It was so packed that we had to stand and drink at a corner for a while :( So, that is one place to party if you visit KK :D

Us with one of the singers from the live band. She's so nice and friendly. Kept taking pictures with us until we were satisfied lol.

After the band left, we got bored and headed to B.E.D. AGAIN! hehehe. Not to sleep. >_<. It stands for Best Entertainment Destination :D.

My friend was right, it was BIG. And still full of people at 1am something. Only that the live band left already so, couldn't experience it's awesomeness like in Firefly heh.

This was Friday night @ B.E.D.

Saturday night @ B.E.D

See how high the roof is? This is one corner. There's the bar in the middle where all the bottles are. And also a hugeee screen for football fans to stare at.

This is another corner, the stage side.

And the Bed Room haha. V.I.P room I guess?

And after our 2 very exhausting days and late nights out, we literally head home to bed.
Overall, KK's night life was pretty good if you go to the right places. But I do recommend Firefly and B.E.D, judging by the amount of people there, they seem to be the more popular places. :D
